Our Story
Earth & Egg was created from a desire to make everyday goods with care - for our homes, our bodies, and the communities we’re part of.
Former teachers turned stay-at-home-moms, we built a friendship and a business based on our love for all natural, non-toxic products. We enjoy raising animals, tending to gardens, and creating household items that lend to happy families and healthy bodies.
When we aren’t busy on our homesteads, we’re chasing our young kiddos around and spending time with our husbands, friends, and families.
Deanna & Megan
Deanna discovered her love of plants and gardening at the start of the pandemic, though her lifelong love of creating, crafting, and teaching had been shaping her long before that. After seven years in the classroom, she co-founded Earth & Egg with Megan as a way to share the all-natural, non-toxic products she was already making for her own family with the community she’s called home for the past fifteen years. Known for her thoughtful gardening practices, creativity, and resourcefulness, Deanna grows and makes many of the ingredients that become Earth & Egg products right from her own garden and kitchen. When she’s not canning or creating, you’ll likely find her knee-deep in the garden, spending time with her pets, or crafting alongside her children.
Born and raised in New York, Megan moved to North Carolina in 2022 to pursue her long time dream of owning a farm and a small business. She co-founded Earth and Egg with Deanna to not only create homemade, natural products that she could feel good using with her own family, but also to bring those products into local homes in the community. After over fifteen years in education, she dedicated the rest of her career to being a mother, a hobby farmer, and a homemaker, slowing down and focusing on her family’s health and wellbeing. Known for her love of animals, boundless energy, and outgoing personality, her favorite part of Earth & Egg is getting out into the community to meet customers, collaborate with other small businesses, and teach people about homesteading! When not found in the kitchen whipping up lotions, salves, and balms, you can find her in the garden with her flowers and produce, in the coops with her extensive flock of birds, or in the goat playground with her human and goat kids.
WE BELIEVE IN
Community Over Competition
We believe growth is better when it’s shared. Earth & Egg is built on collaboration, generosity, and supporting other local makers and businesses.
Stewardship
& Care
We take responsibility for the land, ingredients, and resources we use. Caring for what we’ve been given guides how we grow, make, and sell our products.
Thoughtful & Intentional Craft
Quality matters. We value slow processes, honest ingredients, and taking the time to do things well.
Simple, Honest Living
We believe good things don’t need to be complicated. Our brand is approachable, transparent, and rooted in everyday life.
Education & Transparency
As former teachers, we value learning and understanding. We believe in explaining the why behind what we do so customers can make informed choices.
